ABOUT ME
About: Welcome
CALI LIU has had a passion for the arts since she was young, dabbling in painting, music, and graphic design before pursuing photography professionally in 2017. She is best known for her portrait, documentary, and travel photography, but enjoys experimenting with other genres as well.
​
Her work has been displayed at the Museum of Photographic Arts, La Jolla Athenaeum, La Jolla Riford Library, La Jolla Historical Society, and Museo de Historia de Tijuana (MUHTi). She has been published by Outside the Lens, Sony World Photography Organization, XQ America's #ByStudentsForStudents campaign, LUNA Collective Magazine, and recently, the UNICEF, Rocky Mountain School of the Arts, and Adolescent Content-recognized global teen project: COVID-19 Photos for Teens. She also is involved in Outside the Lens' Youth Council and Youth Tellers programs, and participates in THE PEAHCE PROJECT as a staff artist.

For her achievements in photography, she has been named a 2020 California Arts Scholar, and has won multiple Scholastic Arts Gold and Silver Awards. She also co-hosted the 2020 San Diego CineTeen Festival, and lectured on youth activism through photography and social media as a panelist for 2020 San Diego Design Week.

Currently, she is studying Psychology, Visual Arts, Neuroscience & Architecture as a sophomore at Rice University. At school, she works as a freelance photographer, Photo Editor for The Rice Thresher, and Graphics Director for several clubs & organizations. She is available for shoots and projects in the Houston & San Diego areas.
